About Freemasonry
Freemasonry is the world’s oldest Fraternity with documented origins dating back to “Operative” guilds of Masons in Europe in the late 16th Century. Through its tenets of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, Freemasonry provides men a framework upon which to improve themselves and their world. Freemasonry is not a religion, but requires its members to have a belief in a Supreme Being and attracts men of many faiths and walks of life.

About Freemasonry in Nashua
Freemasonry has a nearly 200-year history in Nashua, New Hampshire with its Lodges being some of the longest continuing operating organizations in the city. Nashua’s first Masonic Lodge was Rising Sun Lodge No. 39 Free & Accepted Masons, chartered in 1822. Its second Lodge, Ancient York Lodge No. 89 Free & Accepted Masons, was chartered in 1871. The current Masonic building, referred to as a “Temple”, was completed in 1891 and is one of the oldest and most historic buildings on Main Street.
